2024 Fair Booth news.
2024 Sew for Fair falls on Sat, April 13 – 10:30am to 5:00pm.
This year’s Sew for Fair is an opportunity to boost the inventory for 2024 fair booth.
We’ll have a full variety of kits of every size. We’ve streamlined and simplified several of the kits and
we’ll have demos on those, i.e., Ulu potholders, Microwave Bowl and Thread Catcher.
Susan Franznick will show her efficient technique to whip through a bunch of Halibut Potholders, our
biggest seller in the booth. To spur you on and replenish your reserves, we’ll offer a yummy lunch of
soup, salad, bread, and dessert.

If you choose to participate in Sew For Fair, we’re offering incentives. We’ll be handing out chances
to win a prize, with drawings every hour from 12n to 5p. You do NOT have to be present to win.
When you pick up a kit that day, you get one ticket. Any completed kit turned in that day
earns another ticket, plus a chance at a bigger prize at the end of the fair season.
If you make your own donations for the booth, please remember that we need lots
of cute baby quilts, as many Halibut Potholders as we can make, Microwave Bowls and any item
made with Alaska-themed fabric. All of those are wildly popular.

New this year: we are offering to pay long arm quilters $50 for each completed bed sized quilt, twin
or larger. This recognizes the unique skill longarm quilters provide and encourages completion. We
can’t sell ‘em if they aren’t quilted!

Enjoy working a volunteer shift, volunteer sign ups begin at the June VQG meeting. We provide an
admission ticket and parking pass for each shift.
The theme this year is “Enjoy the Ride” and gates open on Friday, August 16.
Hours: 11 am – 10 pm, August 16 – Sept 2, closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Gates close at 8 pm Sept 2.
